"How much does a website cost?" is the first question we get. It is also the question nobody can answer honestly without knowing more.
It's like asking how much a house costs. It depends on which house, where, and what for. Let's look at what drives the price of a business website, so you know what you are buying.
Why there is no fixed price
Two companies can both ask for "a simple company website" and need completely different things.
One wants a single page with services and contact details. The other wants many pages, several languages, a booking form and a blog.
Both are called a business website. The work behind them is nothing alike.
The factors that change the price
When you receive a quote for a company website, most of the price comes from a handful of things:
- The number of pages and how much content each one holds
- Design built from scratch or based on a template
- Extra features: forms, bookings, multiple languages, a blog
- Who writes the copy and who takes the photos
- What happens after launch: maintenance, updates, support
Every item means hours of work. More work, higher price.
There is no magic in it.
Template or custom design
A template is a ready-made design, adapted with your logo, colours and copy. It is faster to build and costs less.
A custom design is thought through from scratch for your company and your customers. It takes longer, but you don't look like many other sites, and every page is built with a purpose.
Neither is "the wrong option." For a company just starting out, a well-adapted template can be exactly right.
For one that lives off its image, the difference shows.
What the quote doesn't show, but matters
Two quotes can look the same on paper and be very different in reality.
Ask whether the site will be fast and whether it looks good on a phone. Ask whether you can edit it yourself and whether it is set up properly for Google.
And ask who helps you when something breaks.
A cheap site that brings in no customers costs more than a good one that pays for itself.
How to find the real price for your company
Don't just compare the number at the bottom. Compare what you get for it.
Before you ask for quotes, think about one thing: what you want the site to do for you. Get people to call? Request a quote? Find you on Google?
With that answer, any serious agency can tell you what you need now and what can wait until later.
Especially with a first website, you don't have to do everything on day one. A well-planned site can grow along with the company.
We don't pull prices out of thin air, because we don't want you paying for things you don't need. Tell us about your company and we'll explain what the right site would look like for you, with a clear price and no surprises.
